Role Overview
The Senior Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing complex ETL processes in Talend while ensuring high data quality across distributed pipelines. This role requires strong analytical skills to independently investigate data issues, perform advanced validations, and derive technical recommendations. Additionally, the Senior Developer collaborates closely with MDM/DWH teams and supports DevOps tasks when needed, bringing broader expertise in APIs, DevOps, and cloud.
Responsibilities
End-to-end implementation & optimization of ETL processes in Talend 8,
data modeling, SQL, complex DBScripts (PostgreSQL),
data analysis skills (several years of experience) & improvement of data quality.
The Developer must have several years of practical experience in data analysis. We need someone who has the ability to independently investigate complex data relationships, identify sources of error in ETL processes, and derive data-driven recommendations. Furthermore, the C3 must be able to perform complex data validations using defined and ad-hoc test data. This includes creating and applying data quality rules, analyzing data anomalies, edge cases, and error patterns, as well as deriving concrete technical measures. The role requires in-depth expertise that goes significantly beyond pure ETL know-how.
Close collaboration with MDM/Data Warehouse teams.
Technical sparring and architectural input.
Support for DevOps Engineer as needed
Requirements
Excellent knowledge of ETL/Talend.
Excellent SQL and database skills.
Understanding of interfaces, data processing, logging, and monitoring.
Experience working with distributed data pipelines.
Particularly careful handling of data due to the high project complexity.
Strong comprehension and creativity for proactive and pragmatic problem-solving in the context of data products.
