The opportunity

We’re looking for a Head of Cloud Department with expertise in Technology Consulting and multiple cloud platforms (public, private, hybrid) to join the leadership group of our EY GDS to establish and lead Cloud Competency across multiple areas like, but not limited to Digital and Advanced Engineering, DnA, Cybersecurity. This is a leadership role guiding clients on their IT vision, strategy and roadmap as they embark on and build their cloud journey. Most of your time will be spent embedded with our clients’ and EY leadership team and we’ll look to you to provide them with a unique business perspective on how they must continue to innovate and remain competitive with cloud technologies in this ever-changing industry.

Your key responsibilities

• Help clients to plan out their cloud journey. Establish the why, the what and the how of making the transition to the Cloud. Help establish the business case. Document the overall roadmap for change.
• Provide guidance on key cloud decisions and how they will be made, which application in which Cloud in which service model via which migration approach.
• Advise on establishing a cloud operating model including setting up a customer CoE, cloud operations, change management and governance.
• Team with various EY groups with digital and cloud capabilities to pursue and deliver end-to-end digital engagements and enable solutions that will bring our client’s digital vision and strategy to life. The role involves sales / sales support, practice development and engagement delivery.
• Build a profitable Cloud Competency practice within firm and establish the firm’s image in the realm of high end Technology Transformation Consulting.
• Have expertise in diff aspects of Cloud journey including Cloud Strategy, Cloud Optimizations, Cloud Migration and FinOps.
• Build long-term relationships with key client decision makers which are based on mutual respect, act as a trusted advisor to key decision makers.
• Lead and direct multiple engagements profitably.
• Contribute to implementing and enhancing the firm’s strategies, policies and procedures.
  
  

Skills and attributes for success

• A background of working with Cloud Strategy, development and migration, including a DevSecOps best practices.
• Excellent hands-on technical skills and expertise in architecture and delivery of large-scale mission critical distributed applications in public cloud and private cloud/on prem setup.
• Self-motivated, strong communication and team building skills.
• Work iteratively in a team with continuous collaboration.
  
  

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 13+ years of commercial experience in IT industry with strong client-centric and go-to-market orientation
• Substantial relevant experience, preferably with a Big 4 or Top 5 IT consulting organizations
• Proven track record of successful delivery of large engagements, designing and implementing secure, scalable and reliable Technology Transformations in Cloud
• Ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders.
• Relevant cloud Certifications with a major cloud provider such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Google Professional Cloud Architect.
• Strong experience (min 7+ years) of at least two public cloud providers like Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud. Experience with at least one private cloud provider like Red Hat OpenShift, VMWare would be a plus.
• Strong hands-on experience in Cloud Architecture with services like infra, networking, storage, compute, databases, security, integration, messaging, analytics, AI/ML, serverless, backup, HA/DR, auditing, encryption etc.
• Real time experience in assessing existing large-scale IT environments towards migration to Cloud.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies and vendors.
• People management experience in managing large teams with strong client relationship and account management skills
• Experience in building, leading and coaching teams to achieve business objectives.
• Ability to provide strategic leadership; with good decision-making, planning and organizational skills.
• Experience of working with other Directors/ Partners to direct customer business strategies to align with company’s business strategies
