We’re looking for an AI Engineer to:

• design and develop AI-powered services that enhance the employee experience at UBS.
• integrate and optimize large language models and intelligent systems using Azure OpenAI and other cloud-native tools.
• apply advanced AI patterns like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic RAG, and Functional Calling to real-world HR use cases.
• engineer robust pipelines for prompt design, context handling, embeddings, and real-time data integration.
• evaluate and fine-tune model performance to ensure relevance, fairness, and explainability.
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and human-centric AI solutions.
• contribute to the evolution of our AI engineering practices and help shape UBS’s future of work.

Your team

You’ll be part of the AI Engineering team within the GOTO Group HRCS Technology organization. Our mission is to simplify and digitize the HR application landscape while delivering AI-powered solutions that enhance the employee experience. Based in Poland you’ll work in an agile, autonomous pod alongside product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Your expertise

• understanding of NLP - Transformers, embeddings and earlier models (e.g. tf-idf).
• good understanding of GPT-token and latency analytics, budget guardrails.
• sound understanding of guardrails, prompt fuzzing, adversarial & bias testing.
• understanding of alignment & feedback would be a plus e.g. RLHF/RL from AI Feedback (RLAIF), synthetic data generation, continuous human-in-the-loop review loops.
• experience in prompt engineering, context engineering, vector databases, embedding/chunking strategies, and real-time data integration.
• experience in evaluating model output and optimization
• proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and experience with AI/ML frameworks like Spring AI, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Agno, Pydantic, TensorFlow etc.
• experience in AI application development, focusing on cloud-based AI model integration, deployment, and optimization.
• hands-on experience with Azure Cloud Services for AI, including Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search for developing and deploying AI applications at scale.
• proficiency in advanced AI architecture patterns, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic RAG, MCP, Functional Calling, A2A especially in an Azure environment.
• a collaborative communicator — you express ideas clearly in English and adapt technical content for diverse audiences, while working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers in agile settings.
• a strong commitment to quality, maintainability, documentation, and continuous learning.
