We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join a newly established team in Krakow. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of microservices within the Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) platform, which is critical for global counterparty risk management.

The project involves building the next generation of the CCR engine, migrating to Google Cloud Platform, and replacing vendor software with an in-house analytics library. This is a unique opportunity to join the team at an early stage and make a real impact on the platform’s architecture and processes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage application support operations with a focus on resiliency, availability, and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate resolution of production incidents, conduct post-mortem/RCA, and implement process improvements.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, document recovery steps, and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Actively participate in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Delivery processes.
• Define and deliver tactical and strategic service improvements across technical and process landscapes.
• Apply SRE principles to improve platform reliability, capacity, and observability.
• Develop tools for monitoring, alerting, incident detection, capacity management, and release safety.
• Work in a shift rotation (morning shift starts at 8 AM, evening shift at 4 PM) and provide on-call support on weekends (rotational basis).

Must-have

Who we're looking for

• 4+ years of experience in developing and supporting distributed systems in Java.
• Experience with Disaster Recovery methods and processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing and managing logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks (Geneos, Grafana, InfluxDB, Splunk, Loki, or similar).
• Basic knowledge of RDBMS, Unix/Linux, and Cloud technologies (preferably GCP).
• Ability to lead technical discussions with various support teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a global environment.

• Knowledge of Python and experience in Agile/Kanban environments.
