The Data Analyst will bridge the gap between complex financial data flows and regulatory reporting. You will ensure the integrity of the subledger, perform P&L attribution, and develop automated solutions to reconcile financial products against accounting standards.
Key responsibilities:
Subledger Management & Reconciliation:
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of subledger systems. Perform daily/monthly reconciliations between the subledger and the General Ledger to ensure zero-break accuracy.
Product Control and P&L Attribution:
- Analyze daily P&L movements, identifying drivers such as market fluctuations, new trades, or valuation adjustments.
Accounting Logic Implementation:
- Work with Accounting Policy teams to translate complex financial reporting standards (e.g IFRS 9, US GAAP) into data mapping rules within subledger.
Regulatory Reporting Support:
- Prepare data sets for regulatory filings; ensuring audit trails are robust and transparent.
Role requirements:
- Master's in finance/ accounting or related field.
- Experience in a “Middle Office” or “Product Control” environment within Investment Banking or Fintech.
- Advanced SQL and Python for data manipulation.
- Proficiency in Tableau or Power Bi or Alteryx to visualize P&L trends and data breaks.
- Experience with ERP or Subledger systems (e.g. SAP FICO, Oracle Financials, or SimCorp).
- Solid Understanding of Double-Entry Bookkeeping, accruals, and financial instrument accounting.
- Familiarity with derivatives, fixed income, or equities and their lifecycle.
