Astellas’ Global Capability Centres – Overview
Astellas’ Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are located in India, Poland and Mexico.
The GCCs will enhance our operational efficiency, resilience and innovation potential, enabling a timely response to changing business demands.

Location and Working Environment
This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.

Purpose & Scope
- Execute FP&A operations for Commercial and Medical Affairs Finance in Established Markets, collaborating closely with Country Finance Leads (CFLs) and cross-functional teams to deliver timely, high-quality financial services.
- Provide accurate financial reporting and actionable insights, including variance and fundamental analysis, to support business sustainability and decision-making.
- Support planning and forecasting by developing models, templates, and consolidated managerial information such as P&L, revenue by brand, and investment analysis.
- Coordinate and facilitate the financial planning process, working with business teams and CFLs to review, refine, and adjust plans based on feedback.
- Assist in accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial and fiscal requirements during monthly, quarterly, and annual closing in collaboration with GBS.
- Collect data and manage the collection of data of actuals, budget, forecasts in all levels such as enterprise, region, product/project, etc. and providing views / reports to CFLs and business customers.
- Localises global templates as well as creating suitable templates, models, analysis for effective planning and forecasting (including extracting data from various sources, maintaining master templates / reports not owned by COE)
- Assist business and CFLs with completion of business case proposals providing enterprise assumptions, financial data and validating required information is included in proposal.
- Recommend enhancements to planning tools to meet business needs.
- Communicate with stakeholders during planning cycles for data input & output review.
- Provide suggestions with detailed requests from stakeholders to optimization team COE on regular basis.
- Provides analytical support and co-ordinates with other analysts to understand the key drivers of variances.
- Support CFLs for the definition of clear financial performance measures and metrics aligned with the strategic and operations goals.
- Ensures accuracy and consistency of data through regular validation and reconciliation.
- Analyse historical and current data to identify trends and patterns.
- Support journal entries owned by FP&A. Review J/E for accuracy.
- In collaboration with the COE systems team validate data in financial systems for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with GBS to ensure standard reporting for actuals to all stakeholders like FP&A and executive management on timely and accurately basis.
- Embed Compliance Culture, ensuring Integrity in Action is actively applied in all initiatives, and proactively address non-compliance.
- Ensure a culture of Ethics and Compliance; lead by example and incorporate cross-cultural perspectives when addressing challenging situations.
- Support Coordination with relevant stakeholders to validate financial calendar and required system adjustments before official release.
- BS/BA in Finance / Accounting / Economics or equivalent
- Fluency in English
- Solid work experience in planning and budgeting ideally in Pharma industry
- Strong experience partnering with Commercial and Medical Affairs organisations
- Solid working knowledge of accounting and internal control standards
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, BPC or similar)
- Experience with planning tools
- Very high level of experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Solid experience in matrix environment
- Solid organization, project and change management skills
- Demonstrated initiative and creativity in pioneering new approaches and ways of working
- Experience and demonstrated aptitude leveraging enterprise-grade finance data / reporting systems
- Solid communication skills and ability to influence with various mgmt. levels
- Profound financial analysis skills, coupled with ability to communicate meaning from data
- Profound teamwork and partner behaviours
- Fluency in other European languages (French language preferred)
- MBA and / or CPA / CIMA and / or equivalent certificates (or qualified by experience)
