Mission Description
We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to establish and drive operational support for Data Products within a complex, data-driven environment at world’s leading investment bank as our customer.
You will play a key role in incident management, system stability, and knowledge transfer, while working closely with global teams across the globe. The role combines production support, data analysis, and light development to ensure high availability and performance of critical data services.
What you’ll do
Core Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 application support for Data applications
- Manage incident resolution and service restoration in production environments
- Perform log analysis, debugging, and root cause investigations
- Monitor and support data pipelines and data processing workflows
- Execute and optimize SQL queries (Snowflake and other DBs)
- Work with Unix/Linux environments for file, process, and system operations
- Support AWS-based services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda)
- Collaborate with global teams during operational hours
Additional Responsibilities
- Create and maintain runbooks and support documentation
- Support knowledge transfer activities from vendors or internal teams
- Contribute to automation and development tasks (Python / Java scripting)
- Assist in testing and stabilization phases of new product releases
🔹 Profile Requirements
Mandatory
- 3+ years in Application Support / Production Support / Data Support roles
- Strong SQL skills (Snowflake preferred)
- Experience with Python or Java (scripting, automation, or support tooling)
- Solid understanding of incident management (ITIL processes)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Unix/Linux environments (CLI, file/process management)
- Log analysis & troubleshooting
- Good communication skills and fluent English
Nice to have
- Exposure to ETL pipelines / data integration workflows
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Background in banking or financial sector or financial data / market data environments
- Familiarity with:
- Alloy
- VLF-based query languages / Slang
- Experience in high-availability environments
