Business Analyst – IAM/CIAM Governance Project
Contract Role
Location: Fully Remote
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support an IAM/CIAM governance project, bridging business needs, security requirements, and technical delivery. You will elicit, document, and validate requirements for workforce and customer identity access, JML workflows, and access governance, translating them into actionable specifications and process maps for the implementation team.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Elicitation & Management
- Conduct discovery sessions to capture end-to-end IAM/CIAM requirements, focusing on JML workflows, role-based access, and access reviews.
- Document business, functional, and non-functional requirements, ensuring auditability and traceability.
- Perform gap analysis between current IAM tools and governance needs.
- Prioritise requirements based on risk, compliance, and project objectives.
Process Design & Technical Translation
- Design auditable JML processes, RBAC frameworks, and access review workflows aligned with least-privilege principles.
- Translate requirements into technical specifications for tools such as Entra ID, Clear Skye, Keycloak, and support workflow automation.
- Define UAT criteria, test cases, and coordinate testing with stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Documentation
- Serve as liaison between business and technical teams, clarifying requirements and resolving ambiguities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation: requirements, process maps, functional specs, test plans, and user guides.
- Support change management, training materials, and post-implementation adoption.
Post-Go-Live & Continuous Improvement
- Provide hypercare support, addressing access governance issues.
- Recommend improvements for automation, process efficiency, and compliance alignment.
Technical Stack & Tools
IAM/CIAM: Entra ID, Clear Skye, Keycloak
Concepts: JML workflows, RBAC, SSO, identity federation, access reviews, least-privilege access, deprovisioning
Requirements & Documentation: Azure DevOps, process mapping, test plans, UAT scripts
Compliance & Governance: Audit-ready processes, regulatory standards
Required Experience
- 3+ years as a Business Analyst in IT/IS projects, with hands-on IAM experience (workforce IAM mandatory; CIAM exposure preferred).
- Deep knowledge of IAM/CIAM concepts, JML workflows, RBAC, SSO, identity provisioning/deprovisioning.
- Proven ability to elicit, document, and validate complex requirements and map processes.
- Understanding of cross-system identity integrations and compliance needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal BA certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA).
- Experience designing CIAM and customer identity workflows.
- Familiarity with AI-driven identity automation and governance tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Agile requirements management and user story writing experience.
