About the Role
Our client — a British branch of a global consulting firm expanding its SAP Delivery Unit— is seeking an experienced Senior SAP Program Manager to lead large‑scale S/4HANA business transformation programs.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping delivery methodologies, driving program excellence, and partnering closely with senior stakeholders across business and IT.
You will guide clients through complex, multi‑country S/4HANA initiatives, ensuring successful outcomes based on SAP Activate, value‑driven transformation principles, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Delivery Excellence:
- Lead mid-size S/4HANA transformation programs or co‑lead large, multi‑stream programs across global organisations.
- Own end‑to‑end program accountability from Discover → Realize → Deploy, ensuring scope, timelines, budget, and quality targets are consistently met.
- Establish and oversee a high‑performing Program Office, ensuring cohesion, governance, and structured execution across all workstreams.
- Manage interdependencies between projects, coordinate shared resources, and ensure aligned, timely decision‑making.
Solution & Delivery Methodology (SAP Activate):
- Define and embed the integrated delivery methodology for S/4HANA transformations, leveraging SAP Activate, Model Company, and value‑based approaches.
- Provide expert guidance to cross-functional process teams and advise on best-practice design for end‑to‑end processes.
Pre‑Sales & Business Development:
- Support business development efforts including proposal creation, RFI/RFP responses, and shaping the overall transformation framework during the initiation phase.
- Influence solution architecture and delivery strategy to position the firm as a trusted transformation partner.
C‑Level Stakeholder Management:
- Engage and communicate with senior client leadership, including Program Boards and Steering Committees.
- Drive governance forums, strategic decisions, and program reporting at the highest organizational levels.
- Build trusted relationships and act as a key advisor to business and IT leaders.
Risk Management & Operational Control:
- Proactively identify program risks, issues, and dependencies; drive mitigation and corrective actions.
- Ensure quality, compliance, and readiness across all program phases.
- Lead resource planning and manage internal teams, external vendors, system integrators, and contract resources.
Core Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience managing large-scale SAP programs within consulting environments.
- Demonstrated success leading SAP S/4HANA transformation programs (within and outside Life Sciences).
- Experience working in complex global organizations and navigating ambiguity.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational alignment.
- Solid problem‑solving skills with structured program governance experience.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Industry Expertise — Life Sciences:
- Deep knowledge of regulatory and validation requirements for SAP implementation in Life Sciences.
- Expertise in at least two core process areas:
- Order‑to‑Cash, Record‑to‑Report, Plan‑to‑Produce, Source‑to‑Pay, Project‑to‑Decommission.
Delivery & Methodology Skills:
- Expert understanding of SAP Activate, Agile delivery principles, and value‑driven transformation frameworks.
- Experience managing blended onshore/nearshore/offshore delivery models.
- Ability to build, inspire, and develop high‑performing teams.
