AI Engineering Lead (Python Software Engineer + GenAI) | Digital&IPA (freelance)

The Digital&IPA team at PwC Poland consists of nearly 500 people.

We are responsible for IT projects for both Polish and international clients. We carry out a wide range of tasks—from designing, building, and implementing solutions, through developing functional specifications, analyzing data in source systems, to defining business requirements, supporting testing, and creating mobile applications.

Within the department, we provide IT consulting services, mainly for financial sector institutions in Poland and abroad.

We are looking for:

AI Engineering Lead (Python Software Engineer + GenAI)

Your future role:

• Design and implement modern applications,
• Contribute to high-performance solution architecture,
• Create clear, maintainable project documentation,
• Participate in software deployments and collaborate with users to resolve issues,
• Present solutions and their implementations to clients,
• Approach solution creation creatively within the project cycle,
• Support junior developers in the team.
  
  

Apply if you have:

• Degree in computer science or a related field,
• Approximately 2 years of experience in similar role,
• Advanced Python and SDLC experience (6+ years),
• Familiar with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms,
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases,
• Deep understanding of LLMs: transformers, embeddings, tokenization, and API integrations,
• Proficiency in prompt engineering and orchestration tools (e.g. LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Crew AI),
• Expertise in agentic AI design patterns,
• Experience in improvement and evaluation of RAG systems.
• Familiarity with emerging AI trends and standards,
• Strong Python software engineering skills with coding standards and best practices,
• Experience with code reviews, debugging, testing, and version control,
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes),
• Experience containerizing AI solutions and deploying across enterprise environments,
• Ability to integrate logging, monitoring, and alerting systems,
• Strong understanding of scaling of web applications, experience with asynchronous processing, and multithreading.
• Strong problem-solving using systems thinking and first principles,
• Ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure end-to-end systems,
• Expertise in API design, event-driven architectures, microservices, serverless, and containers,
• Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns (messaging, pub/sub, event sourcing),
• Knowledge of IAM, RBAC, secrets management, and network security (VPCs, firewalls),
• Experience in developing web applications and systems processing large data sets.
