About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Snowflake Solution Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our enterprise data platform. In this role, you’ll define architectural standards, guide engineering teams, and ensure that data is properly modeled, secured, and managed according to best-in-class Snowflake principles.

You’ll act as a key technical authority, shaping our long-term data strategy, scaling Snowflake capabilities, and embedding data governance and observability into every layer of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end Snowflake platform architecture, including multi-layered environments.
• Establish and enforce data governance, security (RBAC), and compliance standards across Snowflake and integrated tools.
• Lead the design and implementation of data models (dimensional, Data Vault, and hybrid) optimized for scalability, cost efficiency, and analytics performance.
• Architect and oversee dbt transformation frameworks — including macro design, lineage visibility, testing, and deployment automation.
• Guide orchestration and integration strategies with Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, and cross-cloud data flows.
• Collaborate with enterprise teams to integrate and manage SAP-sourced data and other complex data domains within Snowflake.
• Evaluate and implement data observability and quality frameworks (Elementary, Great Expectations, or equivalent).
• Advise leadership on architecture modernization, cost optimization.
• Mentor data engineers in architectural best practices, fostering a culture of design excellence, scalability, and governance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience architecting, deploying, and scaling Snowflake in enterprise-grade environments.
• Expertise in SQL optimization, query performance tuning, and data warehouse design.
• Deep understanding of Snowflake-specific capabilities — RBAC, resource monitors, Streams, Tasks, and handling semi-structured data.
• Proficiency with dbt, including advanced macro development, documentation, and CI/CD workflows using Git.
• Proven experience integrating Airflow and AWS Glue for data orchestration and automation.
• Strong understanding of data modeling (Star, Snowflake, Data Vault) and metadata-driven architecture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence data strategy across technical and business domains.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with SAP Datasphere or ingestion from SAP-sourced modules (P2P, O2C, MDM).
• Familiarity with data security and compliance frameworks (GDPR, ISO, SOC2).
• Exposure to observability tools such as Elementary or Monte Carlo.
• Understanding of downstream consumption layers such as o9 Platform or similar systems.
• Prior involvement in enterprise-level architecture councils or technical governance groups.
