- •Analyze and optimize slow queries and database schema with development teams.
- •Maintain high availability and reliability of PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra to meet SLOs.
- •Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- •Design and test backup strategies, failover mechanisms, and disaster recovery plans.
- •Participate in on-call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve production database incidents.
- •Conduct post-mortems and implement changes to prevent recurrence.
- •Advise development teams on database best practices and performance improvements.
An experienced SRE or DBA with deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, strong performance tuning skills, and a mindset of treating operations as a software engineering problem. Someone who enjoys collaborating with developers and is comfortable with on-call duties. Typically 5+ years of relevant experience.
A database administrator or SRE with solid experience in at least one of the mentioned databases and basic monitoring/alerting setup. Must be willing to learn other databases and participate in on-call.
Junior candidates without production database experience or those who prefer no on-call responsibility.
